As a national speaker, Diana has delivered hundreds of presentations and health promotion programs to organizations ranging from fortune 500 companies to medical schools. She was adjunct faculty and clinical instructor at Tulane Medical School and EJGH's Family Medicine and Residency Program until she relocated to TN in 2014. She is frequently interviewed as a nutrition expert for television, radio, newspaper and magazine articles.
She has authored the informative workbook, “Making Health Transformations”, which teaches the “nuts and bolts” of how to use foods, neutraceuticals and mindfulness to help the body’s daily replication of the 300 billion cells be stronger and more resistant to disease and more prone to graceful aging. Diana Davis, M.Ed., RDN, CFSP
Diana is a Functional Medicine Nutrition Practitioner, Integrative Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Licensed Clinical Nutritionist with a Masters degree in Educational Counseling. She had advanced training from the Institute of Functional Medicine as well as professional training under the direction of Jon Kabat-Zinn in Mindfulness-Based Meditation. Diana is a member of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Institute for Functional Medicine and the Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetic Practice Group of the ADA. She is a certified Food and Spirit Practitioner.
In working with clients for over 28 years, her practice beliefs centers on the wellness model. She incorporates medical-orthodox lab tests, functional lab tests including SNPs, motivational interviewing, mindfulness training, lifestyle counseling while customizing nutrition therapy (i.e., using therapeutic foods, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and botanicals) for her patients in accordance with the functioning of their organs and health goals.
Diana remains up-to-the-moment on evidence-based complementary nutrition-medicine (CAM), reviews hundreds of studies per year and regularly attends CAM conferences (over 75 continuing education conferences from 2004-2016) all which impact her to better understand health issues and bridge conventional and emerging nutrition choices. She transforms this technical information into teachings that go far beyond a prudent lifestyle (i.e., eating a well-balanced diet, exercising regularly, no smoking and drinking a glass of wine a day), and teaches her audiences and clients new scientific breakthroughs in nutrition and lifestyle medicine. Her decades of clinical training in both allopathic and functional medicine allows her to interpret lab tests and educates her clients on how to utilize this valuable testing into lifestyle action for health promotion.
